The forest fires in parts of southern Norway will continue to rise in the coming days as a result of the dry weather.
There is still little or no precipitation in sight for southern, western and parts of eastern Norway in the coming days. It also means that forest fires will continue to rise.
The Meteorological Institute’s forest fire warning system indicates that there is now a very high forest fire hazard in all or part of the counties of Akershus, Oslo, Hedmark, Østfold, Oppland, Buskerud, Vestfold, Telemark, Aust-Agder, West Agder, Rogaland, Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane in the next three days. The forest fire danger in these counties is already at its highest level in several places, and it is now expected to be even greater.
Recently, several forest fires have hit southern Norway, but there are now far fewer fires in progress than during its peak last week.
The Meteorological Institute has issued a warning about heavy rain showers with thunder on Friday afternoon and evening in the inner areas of Trøndelag and in Eastern Norway north of Lillehammer.
