Four inmates at Bastøy prison in the Oslofjord have been diagnosed with coronavirus. In addition, ten employees and three felons in the Norwegian Correctional Service have been infected.

Just before the holidays last week, one inmate in the open prison at Bastøy in the Oslo Fjord was found to have a coronavirus infection, writes Rett24.

In the Norwegian Correctional Service’s update on Monday morning, the number of detected infections in Bastøy prison has risen to four.

“Relatives have been notified and infection detection is ongoing. Bastøy now has a good overview of the situation,” informs the Correctional Service.

In addition, the Norwegian Correctional Service states that a total of ten of their employees nationwide have been infected by the virus, but they do not specify where in the country the employees work. Three felons have also been infected with the virus.
