Four people sent to the hospital after traffic accident close to Sarpsborg

A total of five cars were involved in a traffic accident on Svinndalveien north of Sarpsborg. Four people were sent to the hospital after the accident.

Police reported the traffic accident around 1 AM on Sunday. Two cars collided head-on on county road 114, and three more cars were involved in the accident.

“There was a frontal collision between two of the cars, and it developed into a chain-reaction traffic accident where three other cars have been involved,” operations manager Ronny Samuelsen in the Eastern Police District told TV 2.

A total of five people were involved in the accident.

“Four people have been sent to Kalnes hospital, and one person has been sent to the emergency room. The extent of their injuries is unknown,” Samuelsen told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

Two of the four were transported to the trauma reception at the hospital.

The police have questioned witnesses and secured evidence. One person is a suspect in the case, and has had their driver’s license confiscated.

County road 114 is open for traffic after being closed at Solborg several hours after the accident, Vegtrafikksentralen øst reports.
