From next week you can book an appointment for theory testing at the Vegvesenet

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen) is keeping the vehicle licensing offices closed to limit coronavirus infection, but from next week appointments can be booked for theory testing and over-the-counter services.

“This is for those who cannot use our digital services and who have to come to a vehicle licensing office. About half of our licensing offices are open for booking appointments from Monday, but there is a limited service to reduce the risk of infection. We will make time available on a continual basis as several offices receive the necessary infection measures, such as the installation of plexiglass,” says Department Director Frode Børstad of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

You can book an appointment for theory testing and over-the-counter services. That is everything you can arrange at the vehicle office desk, such as driver’s license renewal and replacement, and vehicle registration.

It is not possible to book an appointment for a theory test with special arrangements, nor a practical driving test. All driving tests are canceled in May. If you already have an appointment for vehicle inspection, you do not need to book an appointment at the counter.

Only those who have booked an appointment will be allowed in at the licensing offices. Appointments can be booked at vegvesen.no.
