A man who stabbed two police officers in Vennesla in 2015, has been arrested after nearly two weeks on the run from the psychiatric ward.

The man escaped from Sørlandet Hospital in Kristiansand on October 11th. According to VG newspaper he was arrested Thursday at a cabin in Randesund.

– The arrest happened without resistance, said operations manager Martin Ugland in Agder Police.

On Friday November 20, 2015 it was reported that the man had stabbed a police student and a police officer in Vennesla.

According to witnesses, the man was wearing a finlandshette (balaclava or ski mask) and stood at an ATM to withdraw money when the two civilian police officers approached him.

Suddenly, he attacked them with a knife and one of them was stabbed in the neck. Both police officers were discharged from hospital three days later.

The man has been admitted to the psychiatric department at Sørlandet Hospital after the incident.
