A cheetah had to be rescued from the water after falling through the ice in Kristiansand Zoo. The big cat was very cold, but appears to have recovered.
A major rescue operation was initiated on Saturday when Kito, one of the park’s five cheetahs, ended up in the icy water, NRK reported.
– Ten other animal handlers quickly arrived at the scene. They got hold of a ladder, and punched a hole in the ice. They got a rope around the cheetah and ensured that it slowly but surely made their way ashore, CEO Per Arnstein Aamot of Kristiansand Zoo says.
