German man died in head-on collision

A motorcyclist from Germany was killed in a collision with a passenger car on the E6 in the Laksforsen Grane municipality in Helgeland this Sunday afternoon.

“The deceased man was part of an entourage of several motorcyclists,” said police attorney Marianne Eskildsen in Nordland police to news agency NTB.
According to witnesses at the site, motorcyclist had veered into the oncoming lane before the accident, which occurred on a straight stretch.
Four Norwegian nationals were in the car, two adults and two children. All escaped the collision without injury.
The police were notified of the accident at 12:45 on Sunday. The E6 was shut down for just under two hours after the accident. The accident group NPRA has investigated the accident along with the police.
The fatal accident this Sunday is the third motorcycle accident fatality in Norway since Thursday. A 39 year old man from Moss lost his life when he drove into E6 at Solli in Sarpsborg on Thursday afternoon. On Friday, a man also lost his life when he ran into the rock wall on Highway 13 in Ullensvang in Hardanger.
