So far this year, 20% more personal injuries have been registered in traffic than at the same time last year, figures from Gjensidige show.

“This underlines the serious development we have seen in fatal accidents,” communications manager Bjarne Aani Rysstad said in a press release.

The company has a market share of 25% and believes there is reason to believe that the development is representative of all insurance companies.

This means that a total of several thousand motorists have been injured in accidents this year.

Rysstad points out that keeping the speed limit and staying away from mobile phones and screens while driving is an important measure to reduce accident figures.

“There are still far too many accidents with serious injuries and deaths in traffic,” he noted.
