The family of two of the missing people after the landslide in Gjerdrum is critical of the fact that no new searches are planned until next week.

“We are frustrated about still waiting,” Åse-Lill Næristorp, the sister of the missing Ann-Mari Næristorp and aunt of the missing Victoria Næristorp, told newspaper VG.

Earlier this week, the search efforts’ status changed from being a search for survivors to being a search for the presumed dead.

“The police understand that the situation is demanding, but plans must be made so that the search can be carried out in a safe and sound manner,” sheriff Karl-Vidar Solberg at Ullensaker Sheriff’s District told the newspaper.

“This is still a landslide-prone area, and we do not want the further loss of human life.”
