A man has been sentenced in Gjøvik District Court to 14 years of preventive detention for repeated rape of three children and a stepchild. In court, the man admitted to everything.

The stepchild was four to five years old when the abuse began in 2012, and the abuse is said to have lasted for six to seven years.

From 2018 to 2019, the man raped one of his own children, who was around four years old when the abuse began.

Two others were also small when the abuse started.

The case started after one child told the kindergarten in 2019 that he had been abused.

Photos and videos

Some of the assaults were also photographed or filmed.

When the man was arrested last summer, he had a total of almost 53,000 photos and 94 videos that showed abuse.

Not all of these were from the abuses the man carried out himself.

During the trial, which took place in Gjøvik District Court in early November, the man gave an unreserved confession on all charges.

“So much abuse”

In court, he could not remember when the abuse of the stepchild began, because, as he stated, “there had been so much abuse.”

The man has also previously been convicted of downloading and possessing child abuse images.

The sentence against the man was 14 years of preventive detention with a minimum term of nine years and six months.

In addition, the man has to pay reparation of between NOK 175,000 and NOK 300,000 to each of the children.
