Search crews found the missing angler in Børgefjell National Park by Namsskogan in Trøndelag on Thursday morning.

A rescue helicopter was deployed at 4 AM on Thursday night to search for the man in his 50s, who had been reported missing by his fishing friends at 1 AM.

“They are a group of friends who work together. They had been to different places and fished, both in the water and the river, and had not seen each other in 13 hours when they reported their friend missing,” operations manager Wenche Johnsen in Trøndelag Police District told news bureau NTB.

The rescue helicopter eventually received assistance from search crews on the ground. The search area was also expanded after no discoveries were made in the first hours.

A little after 9 AM, the police announced that the missing person had been found.

“The missing person is in good condition,” Trøndelag Police District wrote at 9:11 AM.
