Good news: The UK will start treating cross-vaccinated people as fully vaccinated from October 4

The UK is changing its definition of “fully vaccinated.” From October 4, the definition will include cross-vaccination with approved vaccines from different manufacturers.

Minister of Health and Care Services Bent Høie (H) hopes this can lead to even more people getting a second dose of the corona vaccine even when they’re offered a different type than the first dose.

“This is good news for those who have been skeptical about accepting dose 2 of a different type of vaccine than the one they received as dose 1, due to their desire to travel to the UK,” he said.

The United Kingdom has classified Norway as a “green” country for several months, without requirements for quarantine for travelers from the country. Therefore, the old definition of “fully vaccinated” has had no significance in practice.
