Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg warns against false optimism following the publication of the UN’s latest climate report.

“When reading the new #IPCC report, keep in mind that science is cautious, and this has been watered down by nations in negotiations.

“Many seem more focused on giving false hope to those causing the problem rather than telling the blunt truth that would give us a chance to act,” Thunberg wrote on Twitter.

On Monday, the UN Climate Panel published the latest of three climate reports. It addressed the issue of what the global community can do to limit global warming. The two previous reports addressed the scientific knowledge about climate change and its consequences for humans.

  1. Agree I believe these long-term or sometimes very long-term plans, in some countries, to get rid of carbon dependencies are far too slow for the urgent need to stop climate change. Europe instead of boosting renewables to cut dependencies on Russian oil and gas now looking instead to boost oil gas production elsewhere.
