Growing drug shortages in Europe in 2019
There was a growing shortage of medicines throughout Europe in 2019. The shortage was for all the main groups of medicines, also in Norway, according to the Pharmacy Association.
– Norwegian pharmacies are using more and more of their time to resolve shortage of supply, says Oddbjørn Tysnes, Director of industrial policy at the Pharmacy Association.
Many patients are concerned, according to a European drug shortage study conducted by the European Pharmaceutical Association PGEU.
-This is the case in Norway too, says Tysnes.
The survey was conducted throughout 24 European countries.
