A man in his 50s has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison in Hardanger District Court for the sexual abuse of his foster son.

The man also has to pay his foster son, who is an adult now, NOK 250,000 in reparation.

The accused did not plead guilty after the indictment.

The court heard the testimony of 16 witnesses during the main hearing, which was held from October 12 to October 16.

The foster father was not convicted for sexual intercourse with children under 14 years of age.

Several sexual assaults

The court concluded that it is possible that the victim does not remember the time of the first sexual contact correctly.

In the court’s opinion, there is a reasonable possibility that the first case of sexual intercourse took place after the boy had turned 15 years old.

The man has been convicted of a number of sexual assaults on his foster son over many years, both at home, in a cabin, and during holiday stays abroad.

He has also been convicted of taking him to prostitutes on several occasions, both in Norway and abroad.
