Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) says Norwegians should continue to follow the infection control rules so that children and young people can continue to live as normally as possible.

At the government’s press conference on the corona situation on Friday, Høie said tightening rules in areas where the infection is spreading the most would mean tightening rules for children and young people.

He said the youngest people in Norway had carried a heavy burden during the pandemic, adding that the long-term measures hit Norway’s youth hard.

“We must therefore make an effort so that children and young people can continue to live as normally as possible,” Høie said.

“I do not ask for much. I just ask that we continue to follow the advice and rules that prevent the infection from spreading,” he said.

In the last 24 hours, 1,415 corona infection cases have been registered in Norway, and the number of infection cases has been rising in recent weeks.
