During Wednesday’s corona press conference, Minister of Health and Care Services Bent Høie (H) said Norwegians must prepare to spend their winter holidays in Norway.

“Firstly, they will spend winter holidays in Norway, that is the most important thing,” Høie answered questions about what kind of winter holiday Norwegians have in store.

“They will not meet so many (people) from other countries during the winter holidays in Norway,” he continued.

The inhabitants of the 25 municipalities affected by measures as a result of the mutated virus outbreak in Nordre Follo are now asked to avoid travel that is not strictly necessary.

The government emphasized that this also applies to cabin trips.

The Norwegian government also decided that – from the night to Friday – entry to Norway will only be allowed to persons with a necessary purpose for travel.
