Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) believes that the meaning of the term “close contact” has changed recently.

“During the corona pandemic, we have been given a separate definition of close contacts.

“First, there are people that you are in physical contact with, with whom you sit closer than two meters for at least 15 minutes.

“Then, there are people with whom you have shared body fluids such as saliva or snot,” Høie said during the corona press conference.

He encouraged people to think carefully about who they are in close contact with because close contacts infect most people with the coronavirus.

“The fewer close contacts I have, the less the risk that I and my close contacts will be infected,” Høie said.
