On Monday, heavy snow is expected in large parts of Southern Norway. Snow-related issues have already been reported in the north of the country. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued warnings for several places.

According to Yr, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued a snow warning for Hordaland, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Østfold, Oslo, Akershus, Buskerud, and Vestfold.

In Møre og Romsdal and Sogn og Fjordane, between 5 and 20 centimeters of snow are expected from Monday afternoon. The most intense snowfall will occur during the night until Tuesday.

In the other places, between 5 and 15 centimeters of snow is expected. In Hordaland, the snow will start falling from the afternoon, while in Østfold, Oslo, Akershus, Buskerud, and Vestfold, it is expected to start falling late Monday night.

Snow in the north

“Blowing snow in the mountains will lead to reduced visibility and the possibility of closed roads,” Yr writes.

On Twitter, Vegtrafikksentralen vest announced that their contractors would be on standby with all available resources.

Further north in the country, the snow is already causing issues. In Nordland, large amounts of snow have caused traffic problems.

Buses canceled

In Bodø, all the city buses have been canceled due to bad weather and driving conditions, the newspaper Avisa Nordland writes.

“We see that the problems are accumulating,” the operations manager at Salten for Nordlandsbuss, Hooman Rostamalipour, stated.
