Here’s how your corona certificate will be checked when your enter Norway

If you have been fully vaccinated or had corona in the past six months, you will be released from entry quarantine after 3 PM on Friday. Here’s how your corona certificate will be checked upon entry.

The corona certificate has two control pages: the control page (Norway – domestic use) and the extended control page (for entry into Norway).

The green corona certificate that appears on the control page (Norway), which is for domestic use, will not necessarily exempt you from quarantine.

For example, if you were vaccinated with a vaccine dose more than three weeks ago, the control page for domestic use will be green, but you must be fully vaccinated to avoid the quarantine entry.

Extended control page

When you arrive at the border control when entering Norway, you must press the button «Utvidet» on the control page to get to the extended control page. Then, you have to show it to the police when crossing the border, the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) writes in its instructions.

The police will then scan the QR code on the page, and the inspector will get information on whether the certificate is valid. 

Even if the information is valid, it does not mean that you are automatically released from entry quarantine.

The police will check information about the type of vaccine you have received, the date when you received the vaccine, and whether you have received one or two doses.

The following people are released from entry quarantine from 3 PM:

1. People who are fully vaccinated. That means, among other things, that at least one week has passed since they received the second vaccine dose.
2. People who had coronavirus in the last six months.

* These two groups do not need to present a certificate showing a negative corona test 24 hours before arrival in Norway.
