Giving Oslo more vaccine doses will delay the vaccination process in municipalities where many in the risk group have still not been vaccinated, Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) warned.
On Tuesday, the Oslo City Health Council, Robert Steen, begged the government for more vaccines for the capital at Tuesday’s Oslo press conference about the corona situation.
Høie told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) that he understands that Oslo wants more vaccines but can’t promise that their wish will be fulfilled.
Some Oslo districts have already received a larger proportion of vaccine doses, and Høie pointed out that there are also other municipalities that have had persistently high infection rates, which have not received a higher proportion of vaccine doses.
“This would hinder progress in the parts of the country where not as many people in the risk group have been vaccinated as in Oslo,” Høie said.
