The traffic on the E6 north through Nordlandsporten has increased between 40 and 50 percent this year compared to last year with a drastic increase in reckless driving.

The traffic last week in Nordland increased by 1000 cars  a day compared with sommer of last year, and now has increased even more, according to Jo-Andre Karlberg at Veitrafikksentralen to NRK.

The increase has, so far, not led to multiple accidents, but the number of reckless driving has increased by nearly 60 percent in comparison with 2019.

In 2019, the police authorities in Northern Norway registered 2,286 speeding offenses between week 23 and 28, with 178 cases where the licence was confiscated. This year, there have been 3,615 violations and 206 licence confiscations.
