After it became known on Friday that the king has cold symptoms, Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt (AP) says she hopes she has not infected King Harald with COVID-19.

“I wish His Majesty a swift recovery. I have had a nice conversation with Crown Prince Haakon this morning, and I am grateful that the Crown Prince conveyed my wishes to King Harald.

“As I said yesterday, like everyone else, I am afraid of infecting someone, and I sincerely hope that I did not infect King Harald, Queen Sonja, or Crown Prince Haakon in the audience yesterday,” she wrote in a statement to NTB.

On Thursday afternoon, Huitfeldt tested positive for COVID-19, just hours after being in an audience at the Palace with the king, queen, and crown prince. On Friday morning, it became known that King Harald was on sick leave with cold symptoms.
