IMDi asking municipalities to settle 13,000 refugees next year
Norwegian municipalities are being asked to accept 13,000 refugees and asylum seekers who have been granted residency next year.
The Directorate of Diversity and Integration (IMDi) will be sending out a request letter to the municipalities on Monday. Of the 13,000 3120 are quota refugees obtained directly from refugee camps and 1,100 are unaccompanied minor asylum seekers.
A Year to date, approximately 10,000 asylum seekers and refugees have been granted residence. The goal for this year is to process 15,000 for residency.
