Fremskrittsparti (Frp) creates its own immigration committee

Ex-Justice Minister, Sylvi Listhaug, will lead Frp’s new integration and immigration committee, which will look at new tightening of asylum policy.

Former Attorney General, Sylvi Listhaug, has been assigned the task of leading Frp’s new immigration and integration committee. The committee that started its work on Monday this week has held its first meeting.

The purpose of the committee is to look for new solutions and proposals within the immigration and integration policy. Norway must pursue a strict immigration policy that is sustainable in order to secure the Norwegian welfare society believes Listhaug.

“There has been an excessive immigration to Norway over a long period of time. We have major integration challenges, with too many immigrants who are out of work. Should we ensure our welfare society, our culture and our traditions in the long run, we must be on the ball’’ said Listhaug.

In future, the committee will meet regularly to discuss proposals for changes in immigration policy. They will both look at new tightening of asylum policy and evaluate new requirements that will ensure more immigrants are integrated.

Frp’s immigration policy spokesman, Jon Helgheim, is deputy chairman of the committee, which consists of Per-Willy Amundsen, Christian Tybring-Gjedde, Himanshu Gulati, Aina Stenersen, Silje Diserud, Kari Kjøna’s Kjos, and Andreas Brännström.
