In the last 24 hours, 640 new corona cases have been registered in Norway

In the last 24 hours, 640 corona infection cases have been registered in Norway. That is 51 fewer than the day before and 432 fewer than the same day last week.

As of midnight on Saturday night, 97,410 corona-infected people have been registered as infected in Norway since February last year, according to preliminary figures from the National Reporting System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS).

In the last seven days, a total of 5,403 new cases of infection have been registered in Norway. 4.6 million corona tests have so far been performed in the country.

A total of 699,089 people received the first dose of the corona vaccine, and 283,835 people received the second dose.

On Friday, 289 corona patients were hospitalized – four fewer than the day before. A total of 673 corona-infected people have died in Norway since March 2020, preliminary figures show. It is not always possible to establish whether the patients died of or with COVID-19.

In Oslo, 228 new corona infection cases were registered in the last 24 hours. That is 57 more than on Thursday, but 93 fewer than the same day last week. In the last two weeks, an average of 282 infection cases has been registered per day in the capital.
