“Most of the infected people have an unknown route of infection, and as a result of the unresolved situation, we decided – in consultation with the infection authority – to carry out mass testing of the entire construction site,” Executive Vice President Endre Persen of the contractor Hent told newspaper Dagbladet.

A total of 180 construction workers working on the construction site for the Dovre quarter in Lillestrøm are now being tested.

Dagbladet writes that Hent has now decided that the construction site will be closed – in consultation with the client and the infection control authority.

Newspaper Romerikes Blad was the first to mention the outbreak.

“We have an overview of the situation, and the municipal chief physician has taken the measures necessary to gain control over the outbreak,” Mayor Jørgen Vik (AP) in Lillestrøm told the newspaper on Wednesday.
