Infection spike in Sandefjord: 18 new corona cases registered

A total of 18 new positive corona samples have been registered in Sandefjord in the last 24 hours. All cases of infection have a known route of infection.

“After a long period with low infection rates, 18 new positive samples were registered in Sandefjord on Tuesday”, the Municipality wrote on its website on Wednesday.

“The virus has been transmitted in the immediate family and close social groups,” municipal chief physician Ole Henrik Augestad noted.

Seven of the cases are related to the outbreak at Sandefjord folk high school.

Furthermore, 54 students and three teachers at Sandefjord upper secondary school have been quarantined after a student at the school was diagnosed with corona infection.

In addition, one of the children at Krokusen kindergarten has been diagnosed with coronavirus. Nine other children and three employees have been quarantined. There, three other children have also been placed in quarantine until the test results of the others have been clarified.
