An inmate at Hustad prison ran away in connection with a visit to the dentist in Elnesvågen on Tuesday afternoon. The man was arrested after an hour.
“I do not know what exactly happened. I also do not know if he was on his way out or to the dentist when he ran away,” operations manager Arild Reite at the Møre og Romsdal police district told news bureau NTB.
The police were notified that the inmate was on the run at 2:12 PM.
However, one of their patrols was not far away, and the man was arrested at 3:26 PM.
“The man is now on his way back to prison,” Reite said.
