The man accused of killing his former wife in Strømmen in April of 2019 pleaded guilty and expressed remorse when the criminal case started on Monday.

“I plead guilty to killing my wife. I take responsibility for it, but I’m not proud of it.

“I would like to say that to my family and everyone who has known us through all the years,” the 32-year-old said, according to newspaper Romerikes Blad.

45 stab wounds

He is accused of having killed the 33-year-old mother of a small child on April 1, 2019. The woman had approximately 45 stab wounds after the attack.

During interrogation, he acknowledged the actual circumstances.

“I regret it every second and minute every night, and think about it every night when I go to bed, and every morning I wake up.

“I will carry the grief with me for the rest of my life, and I am sorry because I will not see her again,” he explained.

The accused and the deceased are Iranian citizens and have a daughter together.

Nedre Romerike District Court is hearing the case this week.
