Israel started vaccinating people over 40 with a third dose of the corona vaccine on Friday. The infection rates in the country continue to rise.
Several researchers have recommended Israel continue vaccinating the population with a third dose, the country’s Ministry of Health noted in a statement.
Pregnant women, teachers, health workers, people with disabilities, and caregivers should receive a third dose, according to the recommendations from the researchers.
49-year-old Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will also receive a third dose on Friday.
On Thursday, 7,922 coronavirus cases were registered in Israel. Furthermore, 599 people were seriously ill with the virus and hospitalized.
