Jæren: 115 russ participants test positive for coronavirus

A total of 115 russ participants have been diagnosed with coronavirus in an outbreak in Rogaland, municipal chief physician Hans Petter Torvik in Sandnes told newspaper VG.

Russefeiring is the traditional celebration for Norwegian high school pupils in their final spring semester.

On Saturday, 95 people tested positive, according to the newspaper.

In addition to the russ participants, the infection has been detected in 16 close contacts.

A week ago, more than 1,000 russ participants traveled across the municipal borders in Jæren with russ buses and russ cars to party. Russ participants in Jæren have canceled all events until May 13.
