The PST confirms to Justice Minister Jøran Kallmyr (Frp) that the woman the government is bringing back from Syria with her two children will be arrested on arrival in Norway.
– It is important that people know that we are going to apprehend the mother as she arrives in Norway. But that it is the prosecutor’s decision, Kallmyr told VG on Wednesday afternoon.
The 29 year old mother of two is charged with participating in a terrorist organization.
The Norwegian-Pakistani woman has two children, a son and a daughter. It is the consideration of the sick son (5) that causes the Norwegian authorities to bring them home to Norway.
“It is done on a humanitarian basis because we fear for the child who is ill,” Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide (H) told NTB on Tuesday.
