Progress Party politician Mazyar Keshvari was questioned on Friday at the police. He is charged with gross fraud in connection with the submission of travel expenses.

– “The accused has been in questioning yesterday. He wants to cooperate. In addition to this we do not want to go into detail of what was discussed,” says investigator Rune Skjold to Aftenposten after Keshvari’s preliminary hearing.

In mid-October Aftenposten wrote that Mazyar Keshvari, representing Oslo Frp in Parliament, had delivered expense reports for 290,000 kroner since the autumn of 2016.The newspaper documented that Keshvari has been home while claiming a total of 36,000 kroner.

Skjold will not comment about how much Keshvari is being charged with submitting.

“There are various reasons why this has taken so long. Among other things, there are health reasons, and it has taken time to get documents from the police and estimate questioning,” said Keshvari’s defender, lawyer Arne Gunnar Aas, to P4 Thursday.

The police will not go into further detail or comment to Aftenposten.
