King Harald has been admitted to Rikshospitalet due to dizziness. No serious illness has been found, reports the Royal House.

“The King is expected to be discharged before the weekend. The King is on sick-leave for two weeks. During this period, Crown Prince Haakon will be Regent, according to a statement from the Royal House.

On Friday, the King was scheduled to attend the European Championships in men’s handball in Trondheim. This has now been deleted from his calendar, writes VG.

King Harald was to attend Tuesday’s opening of the Johan Sverdrup field with Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) and Oil and Energy Minister Sylvi Listhaug (FrP), but canceled on Monday afternoon because of the recent stresses, the Royal House said.

The King’s former son-in-law Ari Behn took his own life at Christmas.

Before Christmas, the King had been sick with a viral infection, which prevented him from attending the cabinet on December 20th.
