King Harald’s sick leave has been extended, the Royal Palace announced on Thursday. He was diagnosed with coronavirus last week and has been on sick leave since.

King Harald was scheduled to return to work on Thursday, but the head of communications at the Palace, Guri Varpe, told the newspaper Dagbladet that he was still on sick leave.

The royal couple were to travel to Britain this week to attend a memorial service for Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth’s deceased husband, in Westminster Abbey but had to cancel the trip due to sick leave.

On March 22, the Royal House announced that King Harald was infected with corona and that he had mild symptoms. The royal couple has been vaccinated three times against COVID-19, and the last dose was administered on November 1 last year.
