King Harald to be present at Alvsvåg’s bishop consecration in Borg
King Harald will be present when Kari Mangrud Alvsvåg is consecrated bishop of the Borg diocese on Sunday.
Alvsvåg will be consecrated as a bishop in the Borg diocese in Fredrikstad Cathedral.
King Harald will be present during the service, the Church announced on Tuesday. There will also be several other bishops present, as well as invited guests from home and abroad.
Alvsvåg, who was appointed bishop by the Church Council in February, will take over from Atle Sommerfeldt, who retired in November. She has been the acting bishop in Borg diocese, which covers the entire old Østfold county, Follo, and Romerike since Sommerfeldt retired.
