King Harald and Queen Sonja will have “people in general” as guests when they hold a garden party in six Norwegian cities this summer.
In summer the royal couple will set out on an anniversary trek along the Norwegian coast on the occasion of his 25 years on the throne. In the towns that the royal visit, they will hold a garden party. The guests will be selected in cooperation with the local county governor.
– This will not be garden parties for the high and mighty, says Ole Wilhelm Svensen, Communications adviser in the County of Aust and Vest-Agder, told NRK.
– They want to celebrate with regular people, so they will be looking for guests from all walks of life, functions and positions, he said.
The jubilee journey will start in Tromso on 18 June and then continue on to Bodø June 19, Trondheim 22 and June 23, Bergen on June 25, Stavanger, 27 June and Kristiansand on June 29.
