King and Queen in old haunts in Rome
Fifteen years after their last state visit, the royal couple was again welcomed to Italy by the country’s president at the Quirinale palace.
The hair of King Harald is perhaps a little grayer, there is a different Italian president from 2001, but the relations of the countries are still impeccable.
The king and Queen Sonja were welcomed by President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter Laura in the courtyard of the presidential palace. After this, they headed for meetings and bilateral talks between the Norwegian delegation and Italian government officials including Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
On Wednesday night there will be a diner in honor of the royal couple in the Quirinale palace.
