On Tuesday, Kjell Inge Røkke was back in Norway for the first time since he emigrated to Switzerland. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the research vessel REV.

“I am here due to the REV (research vessel),” was the only thing Kjell Inge Røkke wanted to say after the almost nine-hour visit to Sunnmøre on Tuesday, E24 writes.

He arrived at Vigra airport outside Ålesund early in the morning on Akers’ private plane.

Verftsgruppen Vard’s shipyard in Brattvåg is around an hour’s drive from the airport.

The combined research vessel and luxury yacht REV that Røkke ordered in 2017 but has been severely delayed is being built there.

Røkke’s plane left Vigra airport again shortly after 6 PM.

Last week it became known that Røkke has moved to Switzerland. According to E24, Tuesday’s visit was Røkke’s first return to Norway after he moved.
