Kongsberg Municipality warns residents about fake corona SMS messages

Several residents in Kongsberg have received a text message stating that they have been diagnosed with coronavirus and must be quarantined. The messages are false, the Municipality stated.

“You have tested positive for COVID-19 and have to be quarantined for the next 14 days,” the false message several residents in Kongsberg have received reads.

In the text message, Kongsberg Municipality is stated as the sender, but the Municipality states that that is not the case. 

“We want to make you aware that Kongsberg Municipality has not sent out such an SMS and that we would not send out text messages with such information,” the Municipality wrote.
