Large corona outbreak connected to café in Mandal: 17 infected, many municipalities affected
A total of 17 people have now tested positive for the coronavirus after an outbreak at Tidemands Café in Mandal in Lindesnes Municipality, with close contacts in 14 other municipalities.
Eleven of the infected are registered in Lindesnes Municipality, but 40 close contacts have been registered in 14 other municipalities, Lindesnes Municipality notes.
Now, 504 people will be tested in Lindesnes Municipality, and 230 are in quarantine.
“We believe that the virus is very contagious and suspect a super-spreader virus. By super-spreader, we mean that the virus is transmitted very easily,” the Municipality warns.
Lindesnes Municipality now asks the inhabitants to be extra careful.
There has been a sharp increase in infection in several places in Sørlandet in recent days, including in Kristiansand. On Friday, Kristiansand Municipality registered 21 new corona cases.
