Latvian accused of the Christmas table murder, in Holmenkollen, appears in court

On Tuesday, trial starts against a Latvian man in his 30s who is accused of having killed a Polish colleague during a Christmas dinner in Holmenkollen, in 2018.

The Polish man died of bleeding shortly after the Latvian stabbed him with a knife in a lavvu, according to the indictment.

The incident took place in a lavvu at Holmenkollen ski resort at 2.30 on the night of 15 December 2018. It was 57-year-old Piotr Bogusz from Poland who was killed.

The accused Latvian was sentenced to 21 days in prison for knife threats, in 2017.

Three days have been set aside for the trial, which starts in Oslo District Court on Tuesday next week.
