Lillestrøm Municipality reported the organizer of the wedding at Strømmen after 29 people were infected with coronavirus after a wedding.

The organizer is being reported for violating the COVID-19 regulations, acting municipal director Bjørg Torill Madsen announced.

The breaches apply in particular to organizer requirements for having an overview of the participants.

“The lack of registration of who has been present has delayed the infection tracking work,” Madsen said.

There have been several people at the wedding in addition to the guests who are registered. Therefore, the Municipality encourages everyone who has been present at the wedding to contact the corona line at 94 00 70 02.

29 infection cases

“Our role is to report violations of the Communicable Diseases Act. Now it is the task of the police to investigate and assess the severity,” Madsen said.

On Thursday, the number of people infected after the wedding amounted to 29 people – three more than the day before. The wedding was held last Wednesday.

Around 80 guests have been quarantined, and the Municipality has mapped 30 close contacts who were not at the wedding or are household members.

The wedding guests came from a number of municipalities in Eastern Norway, and positive tests have been reported in four municipalities in addition to Lillestrøm.
