A man in his late 40s has been sentenced by Lister District Court to 14 years in prison, with a minimum term of nine years, for several rapes against several women.

In 2018, the man was sentenced by the Eidsivating Court of Appeal to nine years in preventive detention for several other rapes, and the new sentence is a joint sentence with the old one, the newspaper Lister 24 reports.

He is currently serving this sentence at the Ila prison and detention center.

The events that have led to a conviction in Lister District Court occurred between 10 and 15 years ago and are related to several rapes of two women.

The trial has been held behind closed doors.

The man is also sentenced to pay the two women a reparation of NOK 175,000 and NOK 320,000, respectively, as well as compensation of NOK 26,000 to one of the aggrieved, the newspaper Agder writes.

In total, the man has now been convicted of raping six women over a period of 20 years.
