Sylvi Listhaug, immigration minister, said people seeking a better economic future has little to lose to manage to get to Europe.

In front of a packed hall with a debate about mass immigration in Arendal, Listhaug strongly stated that immigration pressure on Europe will persist for years to come.
– Listhaug said it is allowed for them to seek their fortunes but that does not mean you are entitled to protection.

– But it turns out that it is difficult to return many of these applicants, therefore they have little to lose by coming here.

Labor deputy Hadia Tajik agrees with Listhaug that not having control over immigration is a threat to the welfare state.

– But she emphasized that many of those who have come in recent years are people who are entitled to protection and residence.

– Tajik mentioned that there is a similar threat to have a poor integration policy.
