Listhaug will have internship for immigrants

The government will do work experience to a part of the introduction program for new immigrants, says Immigration and Inclusion Minister Sylvi Listhaug (FRP).

– It is incredibly important to get people into work. I honestly think that most people who come to Norway, wants to work, contribute and use their skills in a positive way in the Norwegian society, said Listhaug during her May 1 speech in Drammen.

The minister said the government will propose the scheme in the coming integration message. She says internships, among other can be created in health care.

– Peoples in our nursing homes is not starve because there is no food, but because there is a lack of hands. Why not use those now going into labor to help the sick and elderly? said Listhaug.
