A man in his 60s has been found dead in the sea in Vestresand in Lofoten. He was reported missing Monday night.

The man was found in the sea in the immediate vicinity of his moored boat at 9:48 PM on Monday night, Nordland Police District informed on Twitter. 

He was pronounced dead just over an hour later.

“Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was implemented and continued until a SeaKing helicopter with a doctor came to the scene,” the police wrote.

The man has been transported to the hospital in Gravdal and will be autopsied. The relatives have been notified.
