The Socialist Left (SV) party leader Audun Lysbakken is against priority corona vaccines for Norwegian parliament (Storting) politicians. He understands why people in more vulnerable occupations criticized the vaccine prioritization of MPs.

“We think it is strange that this offer came now and that the Storting was not consulted in advance. I understand why other groups in more vulnerable professions reacted to the government’s decision,” Lysbakken wrote in a text message to the newspaper VG.

He did not want to criticize representatives who accepted the vaccination. He said that several people might have good reasons for doing so.

Preben Aavitsland at the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) recently said that the decision to move parliamentary representatives forward in the vaccine queue is not something the FHI professionally recommended.
