A man in his late fifties must meet in November at Sunnhordaland District Court on charges of helping a total of 19 men and women cheat on their driving tests.

The police and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration conclude that the man has earned money helping candidates cheat on their driver’s license exams several different places in Norway. According to the charge the cheating has taken place at Driver and Vehicle Licensing Offices across the country from Mandal in the south to Tromsø in the north.

According to the charge signed by police lawyer Gunnveig Breistein in the South-West Police district the man has helped 19 people by having the candidates wear a shirt with a pocket on its chest where an iPhone with a camera was placed. A radio transmitter was also taped to their bodies. A helper who could see the test via the phone stood on the outside of the room and fed the correct answers to the candidates.

The police inform VG that 15 of the 19 individuals have accepted a fine of 8000 NOK.

The case will stretch 7 court-days at Sunnhordaland District Court in Stord and will according to plan conclude Tuesday the 1. December.

The man’s attorney Linda Ellefsen Eide says he does not admit guilt in this case.
